Mobhus is a way of thinking about the objects of our interiors and letting ourselves be carried along a line to be contemplated. Our aspiration is rooted in this period, when the search for form, function and space were the foundations of great designers. The names of Charlotte Perriand and Jean Prouvé resonate in this sense. Solid wood, that living material, is an obvious choice. Starting with a log with sinuous lines, we succeed in understanding it and bringing out its forms.
We create everyday objects. Beautiful, durable and functional, to maintain the link between people and objects.
- Stéphanie and Romain

Our solid wood furniture collections are produced in small, numbered series. Each piece is unique and durable. Our objects are conceived in their entirety: from the idea to the design, from the design to the object and from the object to its space. Every stage of creation is meticulously carried out in our workshop, in order to preserve traditional craftsmanship.
- Thinking, drawing, making.

Mobhus also means being able to adapt our objects to your interior, and working together to realise your projects.
- Made to measure

OUR HISTORY

We are Stéphanie and Romain,
creators.
It was together that we decided to unite our values by creating Mobhus, contraction of“Mobilier” and “Hus”meaning “house” in Scandinavian.
After completing her Supply Chain studies, Stéphanie moved to New Zealand, backpack on her back, for several years. In the heart of the majestic trees of this island country, she became aware of this fundamental resource. She is committed to preserving what surrounds her, and in each of her actions, she asks herself the question of function and care. She is highly creative, takes a great interest in the life of objects and loves to learn the skills of craftsmanship. Her various professional experiences have reinforced her innate qualities of organisation, management and administration.
As far back as he can remember, Romain has always been attracted to woodworking. This naturally led him to the Ecole Boulle. Later, his need for creativity led him to complete his training at a national fine arts school. A cabinetmaker and restorer, in 2015 he founded the’Atelier du Petit Scarabée in Angers. Over the years, he has continued to add to his sketchbook and design furniture. All these years have given him food for thought about the need to create objects that will last and to reflect on the way we produce today.
- Together, we create.
THE WORKSHOP

The workshop is a meeting place for traditional craftsmanship and innovation. Hand tools preserve our traditional know-how. New technologies allow us to develop even more possibilities in the making of our creations. So we combine tradition and modernity to make unique pieces.
Because we care about the quality of our objects, we respect every stage of their production to ensure their longevity. That's why our minimum lead time is eight weeks.
- Being a craftsman and designer
OUR AMBITION
The mobhus project is also about linking the material to the object. Far from clear-cutting and logging, we're aiming to acquire our own forest and adopt the main principles of agro-forestry. That's how we'll be able to select each tree, which will become a block, before taking the necessary drying time to become your furniture.
To do this, we already have our little gardeners, Boule, Vanille, Marteau, Molly and Cheville, our ewes, who naturally look after and help to maintain the forest eco-system.
